The Plainview Public Schools Foundation

In 1993, The Plainview Public Schools Foundation (a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization) was started by a comprised group of men and women associated, and concerned with, the betterment of Plainview Schools. These Board members made a commitment to start fundraising efforts to provide monies to supplement educational needs for all students; monies which were unavailable in the course of normal school funding. It is generously funded through private and business donations via fundraising events or direct requests. All Board members work on a volunteer basis and all funds raised are held and dispersed for the sole purpose of granting awards to Plainview Public Schools.

Board meetings consist of Foundation Board members as well as the Superintendent and a faculty representative. School Board members are also encouraged to give input as to what they feel would best benefit our school. We work collectively to grant our teachers additional resources to support the growth and educational opportunities of hundreds of Plainview school children.

To make our schools the educational facilities we desire them to be, the Foundation has, and will continue, to encourage Plainview teachers and administrators to bring creative, innovative ideas for consideration. In doing so, some of the past programs the Foundation has helped fund with grants include: computer software, iPads, laptops, educational fieldtrips and speakers, Alphabetic Phonics materials, Project Wisdom, hearing impaired audio amplification technology for elementary and middle school classrooms, robots for Jr Botball, Anti-Violence Peace Day, Drug Prevention Workshop, Tiles Tell A Story, outdoor classroom/greenhouse, Character Education, Environmental Waste Management Field Productive System, landscape learning, arranged for teacher education with the Educational Development Instructional team through Cornerstone, supported Teacher of the Year and Discovery Club.

If you would like to assist in the Foundation’s efforts in the form of funds or volunteer assistance, please contact us at plainviewfoundation@gmail.com or visit us on Facebook. It is your continued support that makes it all possible.
